When you apply for studies at a Swedish university as an international student, you are assigned a matriculation number. The matriculation number is used to identify the student only internally within the university, and is not used or recognised outside of your studies.

Your matriculation number is 12 digits, formatted as your date of birth followed by a T and three numbers (YYYYMMDD-TXXX). For example, if you were born 15 August 1992, your matriculation number would look something like 19920815-T123.

It looks very similar to a Swedish personal identity number or coordination number, but it does not function as either.

You can find your matriculation number on your multicard as well as in the bottom right-hand corner beneath your name when you log in to Ladok Student.
